A friend basically slapped me the other day when I admitted I had never seen the 1966 French classic, A Man And A Woman (yes, brought to you by the same director responsible for one of the best short films ever made). And rightfully so. Now that I've had the pleasure, I think I might have to do some slapping. By far one of the most stylish movies I've ever seen, outranking even a few of Newman's and McQueen's. Make no mistake about it, this is a love story through and through, detailing the heartaches and beats of passion. And for those of you dudes who can't handle that, there are also some of the most hypnotic shots of Ford race cars doing what they do best. Consider yourself slapped.
