Two Albums Worth Spinning

I always have music on. Headphones, desk, car, whatever. It's been a vital part of my life for the last 20 years or so. I can tell you where I was the first time I heard Samiam or Jawbreaker, the first time I paid attention to the lyrics of Water & Solutions, or how many events in my life have Mineral playing as the soundtrack. I often recall dates by remembering what album I was listening to at the time. Just when I think I've heard all I need, know all the bands I think I'll like, and when I get all salty and jaded on the newer younger bands, I go and discover something new. It reminds me that the soundtrack of my life has no running time, the set list just gets longer. And no matter what, it will be forever changing, evolving, and always, always, turned up to the red.
