One That Does Not So Closely Resemble My Own...

Every once in a while I come across a car I wish I could have or a house I wish I could have, but seldom do I come across a life... I wish I could have. Portland based photographer, Benji Wagner, captures that life. A collection of moments and a lifestyle most of us wish we could be a part of, if only for a weekend or so. Even though not all the images below were taken here in the States, there is a certain dramatic, 'American' tone to his work. It shows us little snapshots of the everyday, reflected in the extraordinary, and all done with the seemingly effortless twist of the lens and flick of the shutter. I always feel that the best photographers are the ones whose images look as if they were merely snapshots of friends, natural, unposed, and real. Benji is one of those.
