(non) AMERICAN ICON: Porsche 912

This type of extensive look at a vehicle would normally fall into my "AMERICAN ICON" header, but...well... it's not American. More sold here than in Germany, so maybe that counts?? One of the least talked about or seen Porsches. This is one of my favorites. Built between '65 and '69, and again for a year in'76, it out sold the 911 its first year in production. Can't you just see yourself leaving the tennis club in one of these? If you've ever watched Spy Game and asked yourself what car Redford drives, the answer... a 912. Classic and understated.
