Living in LA, I am somewhat sheltered from the impact of the recession, visibly at least. But venture only 40 miles outside of the city and America is singing a different tune. Santa Paula may sound familiar to some of you who followed the last few years of a certain Persol-wearing, Triumph-riding, 60s action star, but despite being the King Of Cool's address, it's seen better days.
