I must've been annoying as hell to walk with while in NYC last week, because I was either falling behind taking pictures of a bike or a pigeon, or getting yelled at for snapping a picture of a guy loading trash into his truck. I couldn't help it, there are so many great photo ops in the city. Not sure if it works both ways, if someone from NY could come to LA and feel the same, but I was inspired. The best thing about taking photos with your iPhone is the inconspicuous nature in which you can snap away. "No, man. I was just texting. Why would I want to take a picture of you?" SUCKER!

my friend, i must say you have a gift.
prior to viewing your photoblogs I had absolutely no desire to visit LA or NY.
i think its a testament to how well you do what you do.

Photogenic as Hell, this city !
yep, i agree.
Your shots look like they could have been taken at any point in the last 30 odd years. Superbly timeless and classic. Only the car in the final shot gives it away.
But what I really love is the fact that you're not saying you're a documentary photographer or even trying to be - and that these are just your iPhone pics, tweaked with an app and posted to a blog. And that makes them utterly modern documentary photographs in my mind.
Love it.
Great photos indeed! B+W add to the drama.
love love love! you are an iphone pic master... great contrast in all of them.
you have a great eye, man. well done.
Lovely stuff.
You have mastered the art of the iphone photo
yup; that's new york alright
i'd love for you and mel to visit us in portland and see what you and your iphone could capture here :)
I don't think I realized how good of a photographer you actually were until now. Even if it was with a phone, the framing is quite good. The one with the child in the stroller is fucking brilliant. Though, my biggest critique is the self indulgent nature in which you display your work. I'm drunk, so I'm being honest, but one should always stive take themselves out of the work. Art isn't non-fiction (I think you know what I mean). I'm only saying this because I think you have a natural talent but you need to be pushed. Just continue to let that inspiration find you. Thanks for the images.
wow, those are some of the most boring photos i've seen in a long time. thanks!
Anon 3:45am — you are serioulsy drunk commenting? Can you reread what you said sober and then try to figure out a way to delete it?
Anon 11:27am — what is the point of your comment? If you aren't impressed then go look at pictures elsewhere. I'm sure Nick doesn't have you in mind while he is out taking pictures.
When it comes to taking iPhone photos no one does it better than Nick and these are great. Ya'll are smoking crack.
The girl standing on the subway platform in her socks, holding her Jordans is pretty awesome.
it's a personal blog. of course it's self-indulgent. and i love it. buhbye anonymous...
