Then And Now...Now

Stumbled on this Flickr Set the other day. At first I thought there was no way it was real, just some dandy Photoshoping. The closer I got though, I think they're legit, although a few are suspect. They are from different people, and looks like they all congregate on Flickr to share. Pretty rad. I'm so happy I don't have a stack of old photos from my neighborhood. I might not get anything done the next few days. "Why is that guy standing in the middle of the street taking pictures of his hand?"

Great photo idea! Unfortunately, I could never pull this off; shakey hands!

That is way cool. The older the picture the more intriguing it is.

Not legit, for most of em. The center picture (the said "old picture") always has clean corners and an awkward frame : why would somebody shoot the family picture with such a terrible frame ? It's totally photoshopped. But the idea is great. Like a "vynil cover" thing applied to landscapes.

Figures....always a photoshopped reference to just plain and simple photography. Dont be upset you didnt think of it first. Thats why most people claim photoshop. Do you know this for a fact? until i hear facts that its photoshopped, I'll just enjoy these creative PHOTOGRAPHS.

The second photograph seems to be in Romania, city of Brasov in a place called Piata Sfatului. Very nice :-)

Does anyone know if there is a specific name for this activity (superimposing pictures on the real-world) ?
