These photos, by Mike Manson, offer up a glimpse into the style surrounding drag culture in the late 60s. Sure, Mike was probably trying focus in and capture the lines and glitter paint of the cars, but lucky for us he got some onlookers and crew in the frame as well. Look close and catch the loafers with no socks, striped t-shirts, canvas shoes, tucked graphic-tees, chinos hovering the perfect height from the ground and even some sock-less saddles. Yeah, and those cars ain't all bad either. I'd take that fastback lining up, as-is, blower and all.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger
Sticking with the Porsche theme and the not-so-timeless-design, Carrera Sunglasses have effortlessly stood the test of time... of being arrogant, dated and the epitome of the Brat Pack's antagonistic counterparts. Today's translation is less driving your white-on-white whale-tail to the country club while doing a line off your tennis racquet, and more Kanye West video. Most between the late 70s and mid 80s are a bit out of control for most classic tastes, but buried in the lines are a few pairs worth checking out.

All-Out Technicolor
A Time To Get was accused of being too monochromatic yesterday, with a heavy focus on "olive drab." So, in response to that comment -- a plethora of vintage Porsche racing posters... in living color. By far ONE of the best eras for graphic design was the 60-70s, with their avant-garde layouts and color schemes. Perhaps not the most timeless of design trends, but certainly one of the most memorable. If internet traffic left grooves, there would be a deep and defined one between my computer and the Pelican Porsche poster collection.
