Keep It Simple, Stupid

Just in time for the big Fall, one of my favorites, Real McCoys, lets loose with a nice selection of basics. Hoodies, pull-overs, tees and thermals, all you need. Now all you gotta do is book a flight to Japan and load up. Only cost you an arm and leg (see: few thousand dollars) with our current conversion rate too.

Beauty, Eyes & Beholders

Came across this great flickr set the other day. Soon after, I started thinking about the life and death of things, and all the places in between. Does an object live and then die when it ceases to do the job it was created to do? Does it live on, no matter the actions it performs? Does life rest in the state in which the object is in, or merely in the state the viewer is in? Does it live at all? Does it just take on the life of the thoughts and hands that created it? Or does it die, alone, when its creators are no more than thoughts themselves? I pondered all of these things, gazed upon these images, and shed a tear for what was and what might have been. A tear which came from the solace found in the simple thought that no matter the state of an object, it is not death that is reflected, but life.

No, not really. I just thought these pictures of old rusted warplanes were rad.

The Phantom Of Belgrade

Best thing ever? I think it just may be. In 1979, a Yugoslavian car thief decided to spice up the communist city of Belgrade, and for fifteen nights, put on a show for those who would patiently line the streets and wait to cheer him on as he raced his stolen, white Porsche through the City squares and taunted police. Reasons for his actions vary, but one urban myth even says he would pick a rose for his girlfriend in the city square every night to prove his love for her. Call me old fashioned, but I kinda like the idea of a guy just trying to piss the cops off. The story ends when police strategically placed two city buses in the main square to block the Phantom. As he tried to slide between them, he smashed into a bus and totaled the car. The people, his loyal fans, were able to block the police from the scene long enough to allow the man to escape into the night.

Exact details of the 10-15 nights vary, but I don't really think it matters. I'm packing my bags and moving to Belgrade. LONG LIVE THE PHANTOM! I need to give a thanks to my buddy, George, for enlightening me with such an amazing piece of world history. Check out the five minute doc below, I promise it will make your day. Inspiration.

I Love The Smell Of A Garage Sale...

At 7AM in the morning. Nothing like having a horde of perfect strangers rummaging through the last 5 or some odd years of your life. Even though it's a bunch of "crap" you no longer want to clutter your life, you can't help but to silently curse the people who walk over, hold something up and put it back down. "Bitch, don't judge me."

PAUSE

I just ruined a couple Fridays with this post. If you're anything like me, you won't be able to get much done until you go through most of these pages. Steven Hill's Movie Title Screens has stills from almost every main title you can think of, all categorized for your viewing pleasure. There are a few below, and these are just from from the 60s. They go on and on. Go look up your favorites from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II to Captain Blood.
